Gun Belt & Holster

What a project! I've only done one more of these and it was pretty small and without the belt. This holster here for GH was to be a western style gun belt & holster, with his initials. Those were his only requests. I had "artistic freedom" to decide on all the rest. What fun! It was cut from heavy, natural, vegetable tanned leather: thick stuff! It was tooled,    holes were punched & it was wet-formed, then it was dyed & a finish was applied. Then, assembly. And then it was worn! 🙂 Thanks GH! A fun project and a learning experience as well! * * *

Oh well. Hope to see you there!  😄

You'll have to give it some TLC every now and then but if you take the time to do this, your leather goods will last and last . . . and last . . . and last. It's worth your time, trust me. >> THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT MEANT FOR SUEDE << Let's start with CLEANING a leather belt. Keeping in mind that you don't want to saturate the leather, take a lukewarm damp cloth and wipe off any grime or sweat. Back & front. More than...

Leather Guitar Straps, so many questions...

GUITAR STRAPS!  I definitely want to make leather guitar straps too. I've made them yes, as custom orders, but I think I'd like to have them on my website as a thing for folks to click on and order. I need opinions though:  What do people like in a guitar strap?  Which is the best style?   Soft leather, or stiff?  I'm thinking wide, but maybe people like them narrow.  Should I make them specific lengths or adjustable? * * * *If you'd like to leave a comment, please head over to the Comment page*
